Are your kids and their friends in love with music?
Consider booking a kids’ recording session at Brainy Tunes Studios in Oakland’s sunny Rockridge neighborhood. Producer/engineer Ira Marlowe is delighted to work with children four and up.
In a 60- to 90-minute session, kids each get their own microphone and their own set of headphones. They sing their favorite songs--a capella, or to prepared musical tracks. (We can also accomodate children who play instruments.) The recordings are then played back, and kids get to hear themselves alone and with the group. Then they watch in fascination as their performances are mixed, mastered, and burned onto CD before their eyes and ears--as Ira explains the process in an amusing, age-appropriate way. Each child receives his or her own CD, complete with titles, credits and graphics! The $100 session fee (for up to five kids) includes all materials.
Ira also loves to work with young rock bands, helping them avoid some of the mistakes he made as a young rocker! Topics include making a demo, booking gigs, musical composition and arrangement, dynamics, songwriting, onstage performance and more.
He’s happy to record tween and teen bands, teaching as he goes along, helping to de-mystify the studio experience and coax the best performance.
Brainy Tunes Studio features Pro Tools, the industry standard in digital audio recording. Other top-notch gear includes Neumann, AKG and Shure mics, Avalon and Davisound mic preamps, vintage Fender amps, Pearl drums and multiple guitars, basses, keyboard and percussion instruments.
